Schmidt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California San Diego. Before joining UCSD, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Mechanical and Civil Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in 2014.


Isha Shukla    

Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Isha is currently a Postdoctoral research scholar at the University of California San Diego. Her research focuses on a complementary data-driven and numerical study of nonlinear wave physics and dispersive mechanisms in shoaling internal waves. Prior to joining UCSD, she received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Ecolé Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2019.


Akhil Nekkanti

Akhil is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on understanding the noise generating mechanisms in turbulent jets. Before joining UCSD, he worked as a research assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Akhil obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar in 2016.

Edward Lowell

Edward is a Ph.D student at the University of California, San Diego, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics and hypersonic flows.

 


Brandon Yeung 

PhD Student

Brandon is a PhD student at the University of California San Diego. His current area of research is the numerical simulation of plasma-actuated jet flow. Prior to joining UCSD, he received his BS in Engineering from Swarthmore College in 2018, and MS in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University in 2020.
